ENTREE
Swedish Meatballs
- .5 lb ground beef
- .5 lb ground pork
- parsley
- 1/4 tsp allspice
- 1/4 tsp nutmet
- 1 small grated onion
- salt and pepper
- ~2 cloves garlic
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs or panko
- 1 egg
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1/2 cup flour
- 4 cups beef broth
- salt, peper
- 1 cup cream
- allspice and nutmeg to taste
Meatballs
Make the meatballs by mixing ground beef, ground pork, parsley, allspice, nutmeg, onion, and bread crumbs. Add garlic, salt and pepper to taste. Add egg and mix. Brown meatballs and cook until almost done. Remove and set aside until sauce is ready.
Sauce
Deglazed if using same pan. Make roux from butter and flower. Add broth, cream and remaining ingredients. Whisk while heating. Add meatballs and let sauce simmer until thick.
Serve over egg noodles or other dish.
