Sugar Cookie

  • 1/2 cup butter (soft)
  • 1 cups sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tsp vanilla
  • 1/2 - 3/4 cup heavy cream or sour cream
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 2 1/2 - 3 cups flour

Cream together butter and sugar and add eggs, vanilla and cream. Mix. Add dry ingredients and mix until smooth. Roll out dough to slightly more than 1/4 inch or so (to your preference) and cut as desired. Bake for about 8 minutes, with parchment paper if desired, at 375 degrees F.

Let rest on the warm cookie sheet for a few minutes, at least 3 as much as 10, before moving to another location to cool completely.

Finish with an icing, frosting or a dusting of sugar, cinnamon or other topping.
