Pizza dough

  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 packet or 2 teaspoons yeast
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 3/4 teaspoons salt
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3/4 cup water

Proof yeast. Mix well a portion of the flour, yeast, sugar, salt, olive oil and warm water. Add additional flour as needed until the dough is able to form an elastic ball. Cohesion should be such that the ball of dough pulls away from the side of the bowl. Form into round ball and let rise for 30 minutes. Consider using a separate bowl.

Punch down and knead dough, then place on a surface and roll or press to desired size.

After adding toppings, bake at 425F for about 15 minutes or until the bottom is golden brown.
